LEISURE PROGRAMS AT THE BUDAPEST MARATHON & HALF MARATHON RACES

RUNNERS BANQUET DINNER CRUISE ON THE DANUBE

The official closing event of the races for foreign runners!

The boat departs from the centre of Budapest and makes a two-hour round trip in the city. Is there a better way to celebrate your participation to the race than dining & cheering on the 'blue Danube' with other international runners?! You will be enchanted by the illuminated sights and the delicious Hungarian dishes and drinks you will be served, while you are listening to the commentary of the underguides who will tell you the legendary and secret stories of our beloved town. Join us!

This is a closing party of Budapest Marathon/Half Marathon, only runners and their companions can take part in this program.

I LOVE PASTA

BOOK YOUR PRIVATE PASTA DINNER!

WE LOVE PASTA! - it is not only delicious but also very useful on the day before the race! We know that some of you wish to have a pasta dinner besides the marathon pasta party lunch that is included in your entry fee, and we also thought of the half marathon runners (as there is no pasta lunch for them) when we booked an entire restaurant for hungry runners!

The Italian restaurant we have chosen is located on Andrássy Avenue, in walking distance to most hotels in our offer, in the middle of Budapest city centre. We have prepared a special runner's menu with a fix menu rate for your convenience and you are of course welcome to choose extra dishes á la carte.

Table Bookings for the Private Pasta Dinner are different to all other program bookings you may have with us:

We book you the table and with this the Runners Menu for the requested number of people. Please Note that Runners Menu is available only if you pre-book your Table and we confirm your booking.

Payment is due at the restaurant, on the spot.

RELAXING MASSAGE AFTER THE RACE

Apply and have a relaxing sport massage after your race, in your Hotel room! You don't have to wait or queue for a massage - our professional masseur will come to you.

Please indicate the exact hour when you wish to have the massage. We will confirm your choice depending on the availability of our masseurs.

GUIDED SPA TOUR

Spa tour to Széchenyi Thermal Bath, to one of the largest -but surely the most beautiful and authentic- spa complexes in Europe. During the 2-3 hours guided program you will be introduced to the world of the traditional Turkish bath culture and you will of course try it! Bring your swim suite and follow your guide's instructions on which pool to try first, how long you should stay in the camomile vapour or how you should finish your relaxing program!

Fix Group Tour: Sunday (race day) 10.30 for 49 euros!

(the tour takes places in the thermal spa located exactly where the race starts and finishes. When your running travel mates have started to run, you just have to join the group at the same place and you will be back at the finish line approximately when they end the run.)

DISCOVER THE CITY BY BUS

Have an overview of Budapest and take your time (and pictures) at the 'discovery' stops!

Tours start near the race centre and pass by all the 'must-see' attraction of the town: the Parliament, the Danube and its bridges, the Royal Castle, the Fisherman's Bastion, the Matthias Church, the Citadel, the St. Stephen's Basilica, the House of Opera, the Jewish quarter and many more local spots.

Available in English + several languages upon request, depending on the group size. Ask your coordinator for details.

GOLOCAL!

GUIDED, NON-TOURISTIC BUDAPEST SIGHTSEEING WALK

Experience our real sights of local and hidden treasures in a non touristy Budapest sightseeing. While you spend a day/half day with an underguide, you will meet Local people and will have the town introduced to you by those who live and love it! Make sure you discover the off-the-beaten track districts, markets, restaurants, shops, bars, streets, buildings, parks, architecture and sport facilities that the locals like the most!!

HUNGARIAN MARKET & DELICATES TOUR

Discover one of the most beautiful old markets in Europe. Make sure you find the real Hungarian specialities. During your tour, let your underguide show you the delicacies in Hungarian gastro-world. Have you ever eaten a Lángos, a Kolbász or a Turó-rudi? Have you tried the Unicum or the bodza refresher?

Duration: Approx. 3 hours long walking tour.

RACE COURSE TOUR BY BUS

Discover the race course & get the feeling before you run! Join other runners and follow the itinerary of the race by bus. During the tour, our guide will show you the refreshment and music points you can count on during the race as well as the historical monuments you will pass by on Sunday.

DISCOVER BUDAPEST BY RUN! GUIDED 'SIGHTSEEING' RUN

Run at the most popular running places of Budapest. Visit the Margaret Island, see the city centre from the Danube quays, or run around the Gellért Hill end enjoy the greatest panorama from it! Your local running mate will be an experienced guide and runner who can 'run you' around all the must-see and must-run spots of Budapest.

WINE TASTING

Next to St. Stephen's Basilica, in an authentic vine cellar under the city, you are invited to taste the unforgettable flavours of 5 great Hungarian wines with the explication of a sommelier. Besides discovering an important cultural aspect of Hungary you will have the best aperitif of your stay!

Included services: the wine selection& Hungarian snacks; sommelier, interpreters.

- As the dinner is not included in the wine tasting, we will be happy to book you a table for dinner in the cellar or one of the nearby restaurants. Ask your coordinator's advice.

SIGHTSEEING TOURS BY BOAT ON THE DANUBE

DAYTIME city cruise Duna Bella

During the pleasant hour on the ship, you are guided by the two parts of the city as "Buda" and "Pest" are telling you their fabulous stories about the charming curiosities along the river. This dialogue ends at the Margaret Island, where you have the possibility to participate in an hour walking tour. Following the island break, the boat turns towards the town again, but the show is not over yet: a sparkling cocktail and a choice of wine, beer or soft drink will be served.

EVENING city cruise Duna Legend

You are invited for an hour's boat cruise at night. With a glass in hand you can experience how the legends of Budapest come to life. You can look behind the walls and the Royal Palace, Parliament, Margaret Island, the bridges, and other splendid sights, all bathing in light and telling you their story.

A welcome glass of Champaign and choice of wine, beer, soft drink are served.
