This year Budapest has become one of the stops among the most important tours in Europe according to the 2010 edition of the world's largest guide book publishers and tourist information service. In the "Grand Tour" of Lonely Planet besides London, Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Vienna, Berlin, Dubrovnik, Athens and Istambul readers are invited also to the Hungarian capital. Primarily the book calls attention to the lively café culture, to the special collection of new and old buildings, memories, to the Buda Castle and thermal baths.
According to the recent cultural research of BTH Budapest Tourist Non-profit Ltd. guide books pay the most important role among sources of information used during travel, followed by information offices and maps.

The 4th Lake Balaton Supermarathon will start in 10 months' time, on 17 March 2011. The participants will have the chance to run around Hungary's largest lake. The "little brother" of the four-day long ultra event, the HalfBalaton organised for the first time this year will again be organised. The second HalfBalaton Supermarathon will take place on 19-20 March. It is already worth including the event in your next year's calendar, if you wish to come and run next year. This year Balaton Supermarathon had more than 600 participants, the event expects everybody back in 2011.
That is: Balaton Supermarathon will also be organised next year!

The 195 km run around Lake Balaton was organised for the third time this year. The traditional "classic" distance of the race could be run individually, in pairs and in teams. This year the Half Balaton Supermarathon was organised for the first time where runners could come and join only for the weekend, for two days and run half of the total distance. Also, any of the distances could be run individually called the Marathon +. Overall there were more than 250 runners at the start. The weather was 11-15 degrees, sunshine, everything given for a perfect race! It was a real international event, runners came from 13 different countries. Runners received a beautiful medal and a vest as a memory of their achievement!
